The apartment is located in the historical center of the city in a building constructed near the Neris River in 1948.
The main distinctive feature of residential buildings in Vilnius at that time was the ceiling height of about 4 meters and high doors.
Thanks to the high ceilings, we managed to design several areas in the apartment as duplexes.
The highlight of this interior is the wall paintings, which we discovered under several layers of paint. The age of these paintings matches that of the house: about 75 years.
Before developing the design project, the DNA Studio team conducted extensive research and found documentation on the wall decorations of apartments in this building. With their help, we were able to restore the mural.
However, during the renovation process, a bold and creative decision was made. Instead of fully restoring the paintings, we chose not to repaint certain areas of the walls, creating an exhibition effect.

The old parquet board was removed and completely restored.
Our client is a highly creative and imaginative person. Discussing bold design decisions with her was a pleasure.
The color palette of the project was chosen in a way that each color complemented the grey beautifully. Together, these colors have created their own unique story.
Working on this project was very inspiring, so we indulged in a lot of imagination and created fascinating 3D schematics.
